Case Study: Inspir Carnegie Hill – Enhancing Resident Care

Challenge

As a cutting-edge assisted living community among New York City’s skyscrapers, Inspir sought a solution to match its aesthetic with technology that could provide a higher standard of resident care.

Even as an affiliate of the well-established Maplewood Senior Living, resident falls were nearly impossible to prevent and also notify when they did occur. Inspir was looking for a comprehensive solution to not only accurately monitor residents and prevent falls, but enable ways to check in on residents virtually without disruption.

Solution

To achieve more autonomy for the staff and enhanced safety for the residents, Inspir turned to Inspiren’s intelligent AI solution, AUGi. In September 2022, Inspiren launched the AUGi platform in the Manhattan facility.

Inspiren worked with the Inspir staff to utilize the mobile and web applications in their workflows for responding to alerts, rounding on residents, and using data analytics for informing residents care plans. Inspiren deployed the AUGi platform: AUGi Basestation, Smart Lanyards, Mobile and Web app, and Tableau Analytics.

Estimated Timely Interventions

  • Reduction in Falls: The staff experienced an improved ability to prevent falls with over 400 estimated timely interventions and immediate alerts in the event of a fall.
  • Tailored Resident Care: Resident behavioral data was easily viewed in AUGi analytics for care planning and ADL assessments. Customized AI alerts adjusted to each patient’s fall risk improved resident fall intervention. Residents benefited from tailored care plans and the facility had a wait list of residents wanting to move in only if AUGi was installed.
  • Increased Autonomy: With de-identified mobile Live View staff could remotely check-in on residents more frequently and especially at night without disturbing the residents.
  • Event Visibility: AUGi Event Review eliminated unwitnessed events, and provided new incident training and response for the staff.
